Thursday is Thor’s day: A weekly look at my TBR stacks. The Black Prism (Lightbringer #1) by Brent Weeks.

Ok, It’s that time of the week where I explore my ever-growing TBR stacks. I think we all probably have these huge stacks of books lying around that “one of these days” we will read. I hope it is not just me anyways. I thought each week I would just pick a book or series and shed some light on them and why I got them to read in the first place. I hope everybody will share what they think and get me reading them or maybe stick them back in the TBR stack. Thanks everybody!

This week I am going with The Black Prism by Brent Weeks. I know I should have read this book a long time ago, but I have not for some reason. I know I really need to read this series (Lightbringer). Seems like everybody is always recommending them and telling me how great they are. This book is definitely at the top of my TBR stacks. I can’t wait to dig into it (someday soon I hope!).

The Black PrismThe Blinding Knife (Lightbringer Book 2), and The Broken Eye (Lightbringer Book 3) are out NOW! From Orbit books!

I have read and reviewed The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. You can find the reviews on my Book Review Index page.

From New York Times bestselling author Brent Weeks

THE BLACK PRISM begins a brand new action-packed tale of magic and adventure …

Guile is the Prism, the most powerful man in the world. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. Yet Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live.

When Guile discovers he has a son, born in a far kingdom after the war that put him in power, he must decide how much he’s willing to pay to protect a secret that could tear his world apart.

About the author:
Brent Weeks was born and raised in Montana. After getting his paper keys from Hillsdale College, Brent had brief stints walking the earth like Caine from Kung Fu, tending bar, and corrupting the youth. (Not at the same time.) He started writing on bar napkins, then on lesson plans, then full time. Eventually, someone paid him for it. Brent lives in Oregon with his wife, Kristi. He doesn’t own cats or wear a ponytail.
